About The WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race
Our Race: A premier mid-distance sled dog race spanning 150 miles through northern Minnesota's State Trail system.
Our Mission: To present an annual sled dog race, conducive to generating tourism and promoting education, that follows the spirit and proud history of the working sled dog in Northeastern Minnesota.
Our Participants: Eighty-five (85) mushers, six-hundred and fifty (650) sled dogs from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota and Canada.
Our Volunteers: Over Two-hundred and Fifty (250) individuals dedicated to the safety of the sled dogs, the participants and our spectators.
Our Spectators: Over two-thousand winter sports enthusiasts from all over the U.S. and Canada.
This will be the fifth running of the WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race in Ely, MN. Just like the past four years, we are expecting an exciting and entertaining race. (We just need lots of snow!!) With the blessing of Mother Nature, we are looking forward to extending our long race to almost 150-miles. We have selected a new route between Tower and Cook that should provide a more scenic and rewarding trail for the driver and team. The shorter 30-Mile race has always and will be a very competitive race on the scenic and rugged Taconite Trail.
